AMS Artelier at UBC aims to offer local support for artists who either have their own small business or want to start their own small business, provide a safe and judgment-free space for artists to hone their crafts and begin learning the logistical sides of owning a business at a small scale, and give artists with opportunities to sell their work in a controlled space and provide constructive feedback to allow members to grow.
Artelier also provides artists with opportunities to sell their work in beginner-friendly settings to promote growth. Our main events consist of workshops, webinars, and markets.
UBC Makers Market
The UBC Makers Market, is a collaborative event by AMS Artelier, Print Arts & Crafts, The Hatch Gallery, UBC Anime Club, and VASA, and is a biannual art market that provides a platform for artists and artisans to showcase their work and sell their products. Makers Market amassed 2000 attendees daily with 368+ diverse vendors.
Artisan & Business Workshops
Artisan workshops are hosted by Artelier network members who will introduce their craft to attendees and invite them to try it for themselves! Business workshops are for those with or looking to establish their own business. Topics include business management, suppliers, marketing, and product design.
Artelier Con
Artelier Con is a networking night and info session combined into one! This one-stop-event is made for experienced and aspiring small business owners and boothers alike! Bringing together potential suppliers and other like-minded individuals, Artelier’s flagship event is the place to learn more about how to develop success in their small business.
Artelier's mentorship program is an opportunity for mentees and mentors to learn and network. Artelier matches an eager mentee with a mentor to guide them in their journey to establishing their business and blossoming as an artist! In addition to networking opportunities, guided workshops and seminars are held within the program.
