Do not hold your horses!! This Western November, we are hosting a western-themed, literature-based, MLM & WLW Double Feature with UBC Film Society in the lovely Norm Theatre !!! (That’s right, this theatre was big enough for the both of us <3)
- First on the roster is Brokeback Mountain (starting at 6:00 pm) – based on the 1997 short story of the same name by Annie Proulx (We will also be discussing the short story here!)
- Followed by Desert Hearts (at 8:15 pm) – based on the sapphic 1964 novel Desert of the Heart by Jane Rule (who was a lecturer at UBC when the book was published)
The event is free for Book Club Members and Film Soc Members!!
Where? The Norm Theatre is at UBC, across from the Starbucks in the Life building.
When? November 18th at 5:45 pm (The films start at 6:00 but we recommend you aim to get there slightly earlier to sign in, get some popcorn (maybe) and find a seat!)
