Welcome to UBC Knit & Sew! We are a club that strives to build a stress-free, fun environment for all yarn and needle crafters.

Whether you're a seasoned knitter, a beginner crocheter, or someone who just wants to pick up a new hobby, we've got the place for you! Anyone of any skill level is able to join our club to learn, teach, or be in the company of the fibre arts community. We also provide sewing machine rentals!

Weekly Meetings, Events and Workshops

Meetings:

We host weekly, low-commitment meetings around 3 times a week. Here, we create a space for all skill levels of fibre art crafters to:

Socialize
Connect with peers with similar interests
Have a study break
Work on projects
Start new projects
Learn a new skill
... and more!

Events & Workshops

Every so often, UBC Knit & Sew hosts fun events for our community. For 2024, we hope to bring more events to you, so keep an eye out! In years past, we have hosted both club-internal and collaborative events/workshops:

Pricing: Memberships, Drop-In, and Sewing Machine Rentals

Memberships:

Membership pricing varies depending on how long you would like to be a member as well as if you are a UBC Student or not. Here's a breakdown...

1 Term
- UBC Student: $10
- Non-UBC Student: $15
2 Terms
- UBC Student: $15
- Non-UBC Student: $20

Drop-In:

Want to try out a craft and are unsure about getting a membership? Come drop into one of our meetings.

Drop In Fee: $2/meeting

Sewing Machine Rentals:

We provide sewing machine rentals and have 3 machines to rent out. Here's how the process works:

Renters first need to fill out our Sewing Machine Rentals Google Form.
Pricing is mentioned in the form, and is copied below for convenience:
- $60 deposit (CASH ONLY) for both members and non-members.
- Rental Fees:
  - Free for members!
  - $15/week or $3/day for non-members
Once your form is sent in, one of our execs will contact you about your rental.
