The UBC Pre-Optometry Club is dedicated to guiding students passionate about pursuing a career in optometry while fostering a strong community of students with shared goals. Throughout the school year, we host both in-person and virtual information sessions featuring admissions representatives from top optometry schools across North America. These sessions provide key guidance into the application process, admission requirements and the unique offerings of each optometry school. Our club also offers opportunities to connect with clinics for volunteer and internship positions, allowing members to gain hands-on experience in the optometry field. Students can enhance their clinical skills through pre-testing patients and learning about the day-to-day responsibilities of an optometrist. For those preparing for the Optometry Admission Test (OAT), we offer exclusive discounts on top resources like OATBooster. We also host engaging events such as seminars on OptomCAS, OAT prep, interviews, and the application process. Members can also attend social events where they can network with optometrists and get answers to all their career-related questions.
