UBC Red Cross is a student-run non-profit club that upholds the seven values of the Canadian Red Cross: humanity, voluntary service, impartiality, neutrality, independence, unity, and universality. Through our five committees, we run volunteer events, host training sessions, organize speaker series, raise money, and so much more. We’re committed to improving the UBC and Vancouver community, as well as supporting global causes.

Marketing Committee:
Marketing is the face of UBCRCC and is responsible for creating social media content, designing merchandise, and promoting our club online. Officers and members will contribute by creating Instagram posts and stories, working on our website, and helping to design materials for events, such as posters and merch. Through marketing you can help raise awareness for UBCRCC’s causes and promote the events that help our club make a difference!
Training Committee:
The training committee is responsible for hosting accessible first aid events through grants and scholarships and promoting safety awareness throughout campus. Officers will work together with the co-directors to organize first aid and naloxone training, speaker nights, and first aid awareness events. General members and officers work together to brainstorm marketing material, event ideas, and monthly social media posts. We aim to create events that are enjoyable for all students while creating an educational environment around first aid.
Outreach & Awareness Committee:
The outreach and awareness committee aims to bring awareness to various humanitarian issues present both locally and globally. O&A is responsible for providing hands-on volunteer opportunities for the UBC community. Officers and members will work closely with the co-directors to facilitate and participate in volunteer opportunities in the downtown eastside, speaker workshops, and more. Through our committee, members will be able to attend educational events and give back to the community by engaging in humanitarian causes.
Fundraising Committee:
Every year, UBCRCC chooses one appeal of the year from the Canadian Red Cross to fundraise for (as well as fundraising for local non-profits such as mission possible). The goal of this committee is to plan run events throughout the year to raise money for these causes. General members can be actively involved in brainstorming sessions and volunteering as event ambassadors or assisting with outreach during events, allowing them to contribute in a meaningful way.
Humanitarian Movement Committee:
The Humanitarian Movement Committee is an initiative aimed at empowering highschool students interested in humanitarian issues through our annual Humanitarians in Training Conference. Through interactive workshops about different humanitarian issues, guest speakers from local non-profits, and take-action activities, we engage youth leaders and inspire them to make an impact within their local and global community. Members can apply to be workshop facilitators or volunteers at the conference.
